We arrived in California the evening of July 31st. It was a good drive with a few interesting accidents, rain storms and dust storms. Troy had the boys in one car and Emmers and I were in the other. I am not sure what all went on in the boys car but I do know that there was a lot of silence in mine. Yay! Emree took a couple naps and I tried to call and catch up with family.
For the first three nights we stayed in a hotel on base. It was great. We had three bedrooms, dining room, full kitchen, two bathrooms and a family room. There was plenty of room for the kids to play and stay entertained. On the 2nd of August, we got to walk through our house. We drove up to this.....
yes, this is OUR NEW HOME!! We love it. The layout is a little weird but we are making it work. We will have to sell a few things that won't fit but change is good.
The kids are very excited about this....
Our backyard. It is HUGE! It doesn't "look" great yet but we are working on it and the better it gets the more the kids want to play out there. It is nice having a privacy fence and plenty of room for the kids to run around. They use a lot of energy out there and I don't care one bit! :)
On the 3rd of August when we came to the house to start getting things settled this was outside....
actually, there was not just one, not even two but THREE trucks!! It is a little insane that it took three trucks to deliver all of our household goods but hey, at least we DID NOT have to unload them.
For our first military move, it went okay. There were a few mishaps with the moving companies but it was okay. One of the things I was not thrilled about was the fact that the movers stacked EVERYTHING in our garage and didn't bring anything inside!! So after they left we got to haul all the boxes upstairs. Normally that's fine, I don't mind working...but that was THEIR JOB. That's what the military pays for!! The next time I will be more out spoken and make sure we don't end up finishing their job.
All in all, the move went well. We are staying busy, getting settled and having fun in between. Thanks to all of our family and friends for your continuous support.
