Sick Little Boy

Last week Manti started to get really congested. I thought maybe he was following in his daddy's footsteps and having problems with allergies. On Wednesday we had been out running errands and I noticed his glands were very swollen. My first thought was maybe he had strep. I called the clinic and talked to the nurse, she decided it wasn't anything too serious and set up an appointment for the following day. About an hour later she called me back and said based on his symptoms he could have the MUMPS! I thought that was pretty random but it also made me nervous. That night his fever spiked and he was complaining that his head, ears and mouth were all hurting. I looked at Troy and said, "I bet you he has a double ear infection." After taking him to the doctor, they quickly ruled out the mumps, then strep. The final verdict.....DOUBLE EAR INFECTIONS! For the next four days he was very cuddly and a big mommas boy. I am happy to say that he is now back to his normal self. Up early, into everything and making us laugh all the time.

Shirts

I just had to post the latest gifts from Ganma and Ganpa Egnew....

My mom bought these onesies and then found fabric at home to match them. She sewed the fabric to the onesies and came up with these cute little dresses!

I had been talking about finding or making shirts for the kids to wear at the hospital. Ganma and Aunt Wendi beat me to it. I think they are so cute and the boys love them too. Sebastien HAD to wear his shirt right away.

Baby Shower

I have to start this post with a huge THANK YOU to those who planned and attended my baby shower, I have some amazing friends and I feel so blessed. It was so nice being able to spend a few hours with just girls! I loved being able to just sit and talk and laugh. The snacks and treats were so delicious, I really appreciate all the work that was put into it. I have realized that shopping for a girl is very addicting. I am constantly looking for good deals on clothes and rarely walk out of a store without buying something. This little girl is so spoiled already, with all the things I have bought for her, check out what she got:

34 Weeks

Yesterday's appointment was interesting to say the least. I was able to go by myself and am so glad I did not have to take the boys with me. The doctor I had yesterday was great. She was the first one in a while that actually sat down to look over my history and commented on how it seems like I tend to deliver early. I was telling her how I had been feeling and asked about my next appointment...She was going to have me come back in the usual two weeks. The interesting news:

*I gained 1 1/2 pounds
*blood pressure great
*uterus is measuring right along with where it should be
*the doc decided to do the Group B Strep test
While she was doing the strep test, she asked if I wanted her to check my cervix. My thought was we might as well since I am already there. She checked me and then said, "Okay, you are at a 2 and your cervix is very soft!" I looked at her and said, "What? A 2? Are you serious?" She just looked at me and chuckled. I was so glad that I finally got to see someone who would actually listen to me and act some what concerned about the contractions I have been having. Since I am already progressing, she wants me on the weekly schedule for appointments. I don't know whether to be excited about that or not. :) The only thing I thought was weird was they didn't put me on any bed rest. I guess if I go into labor, it is the doctor on call who will make the decision of stopping my labor or delivering. She did make a good point though, she said they can do everything to try and stop my labor but if the baby is ready to come, she will come. I left the appointment feeling so relieved, not that I want the baby here this soon, just relieved to know what is going on.

A funny thought; some of my friends here in Cheyenne have been so kind to plan a baby shower for me (this Saturday). When we first talked about it, I thought how funny would that be if I could not go because I was in labor! As funny as that would be, I want this little girl to cook just a little bit longer. We will see what happens....

32 Weeks

It was a family trip to the doctor's office today. The boys love going because they get to ride in the "alligator" a.k.a. elevator. They also know there are toys to play with and sometimes treats from the nurses. We got a few comments today stating that "we have our hands full" and "I bet they keep you busy". I love how people always like to point out the obvious things!

Today's appointment was nothing new, just the same as they have been every other time. The things discussed today were:

*I lost 3 pounds (???)
*blood pressure good
*Her heart beat was GREAT, although every time the doctor thought she had it, the baby either kicked at her or rolled across my tummy to the other side. Funny little girl.
*Regarding contractions, they said to just change activities when they start and drink a lot of water. (Nothing I haven't already heard.)
*Walking is still ok.
* My due date is still August 5th, that is because I have small babies and that will give this one extra time to cook. I guess they want me to be pregnant for 41 weeks instead of the normal 40. CRAZY doctors! (I feel like I will have her early anyway.)
*I will be back in 2 weeks.

After the appointment we went and got some groceries and finally bought bunk beds for the boys! I am very excited about that because now I can get the kids room organized and the boys use to their new beds before the baby comes.

Memorial Day

This year we decided to lay low for the Memorial Day weekend. Troy had a four day weekend which was really nice. We had nice weather and were finally able to clean out and reorganize the garage. The boys had a blast playing outside while we were busy cleaning. We did a lot of running around town shopping and just hanging out as a family. On Monday, we were invited to go up to the mountains with some friends. The boys got to ride on the fishing boat, play at a park and then run around like wild animals at the camp ground. We met up with two other families and Sebastien was thrilled to have six other kids to play with. They got so dirty in a matter of minutes but were still so cute. We had some delicious dutch oven dinners, fun hikes and great company. It was so nice to get out of town even if it was only for the afternoon. We all needed a break and the boys cannot wait to do it again. I am hoping we can have at least one camping trip before the baby comes.
