30 Weeks

Today the boys got to join me for my 30 week appointment. Troy was in meetings all morning and I didn't want to stress about finding a sitter and I didn't dare get there late after what happened last time. The boys were great to cooperate and we had no problems getting there on time. Woo hoo!!

The only thing I was worried about was Sebastien having an "accident". We are doing great with potty training this week and I think we are just about to get rid of the diapers...I am keeping my fingers crossed.

As soon as we got checked in, I of course, had to go to the bathroom. I made both boys face the opposite wall...they didn't need to see me leaving my "sample". I would hate to come home and later find them peeing in a cup. :) The results for today's appointment:

*I PASSED the glucose test! (I was really nervous about that one.)
*Blood pressure is good (I am assuming this because they never told me what it was and didn't mention it later in the appointment.)
*I didn't gain any weight.
*My uterus is measuring at 31cm. (Right along with my original due date!)
*The baby's head is down, causing A LOT of pressure.
*I have to start monitoring my contractions better since I am getting closer to the end.
*Be back in the office in 2 weeks!

In this post, I also wanted to list some of the things that have happened this time around. There may be some repeats but I just want to make sure I get it noted.

*First, cravings! I have gone from throwing up everything to wanting caffeine, to only wanting fruits and veggies, then salads and from there, anything with sugar. I am currently back to the point where nothing really sounds good and I can only eat a little at a time.

*This little girl already loves her brothers. As soon as they start making noises in the morning, she starts doing flips and moving around like crazy. I definitely do NOT need an alarm clock.

*She is really preparing me for the 2-3 hours feedings in the middle of the night. She is either moving around so much it wakes me up or I have to go to the bathroom. Last night I was up from 3:00-4:00 because she was laying in a funny position and making my back ache.

*Manti gets a little confused as to where "baby sister" is at. He will sometimes come over and rub my chest saying, "hi, baby sister". I try to be quick to point out that his baby sister is not "there" but in my tummy. It is still so cute though.

* I am now to the point where SNEEZING is NOT a good thing to do when I cannot stop to cross my legs. (If you other mothers out there know what I mean. ;) )

I am sure there are more things I wanted to list but cannot think of anymore right now. All I know is, I still have so much I want to get done around the house before she makes her grand entrance and time is quickly passing.

BirthDAY

The morning of Sebastien's birthday was so fun. We continued the tradition of decorating the house with a lot of balloons, streamers and presents. He was so excited for his birthday the minute he woke up and couldn't wait to go downstairs to find "lots of presents" as he said.
He stopped at the bottom of the stairs for a quick picture.

Here he is checking out all of the balloons. He was so excited at this point and had not even seen the kitchen yet.
Checking out his presents and other decorations. We did a "Cars" theme this year so I used all of the boys Cars characters to help decorate the table. You can see Manti's little hand at the bottom of the picture reaching for a car.

We also have a tradition of getting birthday donuts. I had to babysit that morning so daddy took the birthday boy to get donuts while Manti and I stayed home waiting for the kids. As you can see, Manti had a great time playing with Sebastien's new toys while he was out with daddy.
He wore his birthday crown to get donuts and loved all the attention he got. Here he is enjoying his donuts. It was a great start for a fun and exciting birthday.

I let Sebastien choose what he wanted to do for lunch and of course he chose McDonald's. Sometimes I feel it is such a waste of money because they never EAT! Getting them to eat was a challenge, there was some compromising involved but then they were off. We all know the only reason they like to go there is to play. I didn't take any pictures of them playing, it was enough work trying to keep track of them.

He was like this all day, a smile glued to his face. He was just so happy it was HIS birthday!

Showing me how old he is now.

I caught Manti in between bites, he doesn't look too happy here. Probably because he just wanted to play.

After a long day of daddy being at work, he finally came home and Sebastien got to open his presents. He was so excited and didn't waste any time getting the paper off. He got a couple of puzzles, a Cars "look and find" book and a new hot wheels track with cars.
In Sebastien's words "This puzzle is HUGE!"

Opening his presents...Manti is checking out his new book and Sebastien couldn't wait to do his new puzzle.
I caught him in his birthday crown. (I made him wear it while he opened presents.)

After dinner and presents, we went over to our friends house to celebrate him completing his MBA. We are so excited for them and all of their accomplishments.
Three of my boys favorite "Cheyenne" people!

They even sang happy birthday to Sebastien and had cupcakes. The boys LOVED them!

He is always so great at playing with our boys. Not to mention all the other kids that were at their house.
Manti looks a little scary in this picture and Sebastien was having a blast being pulled across the floor. Thank you for wearing the boys out!
Sebastien had the best day ever and was so worn out. Now to prepare for the birthday party...

Finally, A Walk

I have been wanting to take the boys out for a walk for weeks now and we finally did it. It felt great to be outside in the fresh air. Minutes before we were about to head out, the boys decided they needed hats like daddy's to protect them from the rain. The sky was pretty dark and I was sure we were going to get rained on. Troy and I got to talk as the boys lounged in their wagon, checking out everything we passed along the way. They loved being pulled in the wagon looking at all the cars and animals. Sebastien is getting really good with recognizing colors and was quick to yell out the color of EVERY car/truck we walked by. Manti had fun repeating everything Sebastien said. They are so funny! I look forward to many more walks this summer while the weather is nice because as we all know, Cheyenne is famous for it's crazy weather!

Mowing the Lawn

After yesterday's adventures with the weather, today turned out to be pretty good. The boys got to play outside for a little bit before they took naps and then a little more with daddy when he got home from work. They decided since it wasn't raining, it would be a good day to mow the lawn. Daddy got his mower ready, the boys got theirs ready too. It was so cute to watch Sebastien follow daddy's path and Manti just stood by to supervise. He still isn't a big fan of the noisy lawn mower. I am sure Troy will be thrilled to pass off that chore in the next few years. For now, I get to capture the cute moments of the three of them doing yard work.

Keep up the good work boys, the lawn looks GREAT!

I really cannot believe that three years ago today our little Sebastien joined our family. I will do another post all about his birthday but wanted to do this one for today...

28 Weeks

I am officially 28 weeks pregnant! I had another appointment today-kid free. Troy came home to watch the boys for his lunch break because I was suppose to do the "wonderful" glucose test. The doctor told me I could do it when ever it was convenient for me. My thought...."hmmm, will it EVER be convenient?? " :) It was a crazy experience getting to the doctor's office today. I left the house 15 minutes early and was still ten minutes late. Oops! Construction and parking all over town has made a quick/easy trip a lot more complicated. It took me 10 minutes to find a place to park.

When I walked into the office I saw a nurse hurry to the front desk and in a not so pleasant voice ask the scheduler "is my appointment here yet?" I knew she had to be talking about me. I just stood there until she was done ranting and raving. She turned and looked at me and in her "lovely" voice said, "are you checking in?" I said I was and she quickly snapped back with "well, what's your name?" As soon as I told her she continued on with her poor attitude "your appointment was at 11:00, you are late!" To which I replied, "Yes I know, I have spent the last ten minutes trying to find a place to park." She turned and walked away. I didn't know if I was suppose to follow her or what. After a minute or so the scheduler just smiled and told me to have a seat, they would be right with me. I just didn't understand why the nurse was so upset and then walked away for five minutes when she had my folder in her hand. What a great start to this appointment...

Anyway, enough about the unfriendly nurse, today I found out:
*I gained 3 pounds in the past month
*My urine looks good (I always think it is funny when they come in and say that)
*My belly is measuring 29 1/2 centimeters (To those who have had a baby, wouldn't that make me 29 1/2 weeks pregnant? I always thought your belly was suppose to measure exactly how far along you are?)
*The baby's heartbeat sounds GREAT! She is still moving around like crazy.
*I am now on the 2 week schedule for appointments. I can't believe I am already to that point.

Oh, and I must comment on the doctor I saw today. She was a little scary and looked NOTHING like her picture in the waiting room. Can we say BOTOX!!! She congratulated me 10 times in the 3 minutes she was in the room and as she flipped through my medical history says "well, I don't think we have anything to be concerned about. Your past pregnancies look great." (She flipped through 2-3 pages at a time.) I wish I could read that FAST. Ha! Ha!

Case Lot Sale Madness

Yesterday was our base case lot sale and it did not disappoint. I always LOVE the great discounts. You definitely have to have a lot of time to spend there and PATIENCE! The doors were to open at 12:00PM so I thought we should probably get there at least 30 minutes early. Troy's shop is across from the commissary and at 11:10 he called me and said, "There is already a huge line of people, get the boys ready." We found our place in line at 11:15 and began the waiting game. Luckily for us, the weather wasn't too bad. It of course was very windy but at least it was not too cold, raining or snowing. The boys had a blast running around in the grassy areas while we waited 45 minutes for the doors to open.

I thought for sure once the doors were opened the line would move fast and we would be inside quickly. WRONG!! We did not get inside until 1:00PM! Isn't that just insane??
(This was the line of people behind us, we had moved up quite a bit at this point and you still can't see the end.)
(All of the people in front of us waiting and waiting.)

The line was moving very slowly and half way through we were beginning to get annoyed, tired and hungry (well, I guess that was just me). At that point we only had three things on our kart and I was ready to just throw in the towel and go home, but then we got to all the really GOOD deals. Before we knew it, our flat bed cart was quickly being filled up. Even the boys loved riding on the flat bed.

After 4 hours of standing in line and shopping, we saved $180.00 and I have to mention how well behaved the boys were. There was no fighting and only one episode of crying at the very end because Manti wanted to walk and I said no. He fell asleep the last minute of the drive back to the house and didn't move a muscle when I carried him to his room. My task now is to reorganize the pantry and garage to figure out where we can put all the stuff we bought, FUN for me! :)
