Back in January we got a pretty good snow storm and decided to go sledding after church. This video is of Sebastien and Troy going down the hill.
Sebastien made this run all by himself right before I did this video! I was terrified that he was going to flip off the sled but he just laid back and held on. It was awesome.
Manti was at the top of the hill screaming his head off, the wind was blowing (of course) and it starting snowing again. This was it for the boys so the boys and I headed back to the car while Troy stayed out with our friends.
It was only a five minute adventure but we still had a good time. Next year will be better when Sebastien is a little older. Sorry Manti, you will probably still be too young to enjoy it! :)

MRI--RESULTS
Okay, to finish up the story about Manti...February 25th we again went down to Denver Children's Hospital for Manti's MRI. Due to the fact that Manti is so little and would never lay still through the whole screening, he was going to be knocked out for it. His appointment wasn't until 3:00 PM which was a killer. I just wanted to get in there and get it done! Manti was on a strict diet for the day, this is how his feedings went:
No milk or solids after 7:00am
No formula after 9:00am
clear liquids up to 1:00pm
NOTHING after 1:00pm
Now for a little guy who LOVES to eat, I felt so awful for him. He was starving by 10:30 in the morning, water and apple juice just weren't cutting it! The drive to Denver is always a good one, Manti sleeps the whole time, Sebastien watches a movie and occasionally falls asleep. We arrived at the hospital at 2:00 for check in, filled out the paperwork and were told to have a seat, they would be with us in 15 minutes. Those 15 minutes came and went, we waited and waited and waited. Finally, I went to the front desk and they forgot to put us in the computer! We got into Manti's room about 3:30! They got him all prepped for the procedure (temp, weight, etc.), told us exactly what they would be doing then dismissed us to the waiting room! I was heart broken! I did not want him to go through that alone. They first gave him laughing gas, once he was out they did the i.v. and injected the anaesthesia. The screening took about 45 minutes, he came out of everything perfectly fine and didn't have any reactions to the medicine. Now was just another waiting game for the results. After 4 long days we got a call from the hospital saying everything was PERFECTLY NORMAL! Whatever abnormal activity they saw in December was no longer there and he is as healthy as can be. Thank goodness.
We really want to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers. We know that Manti is healthy because of the power of the priesthood and prayer, we are very thankful for the gospel in our lives. Also, that we have two perfect little boys in our lives, they are our world!

Still trying to come out of it. They had taped his eyes shut so he has a little redness by his eyes.
The Children's Hospital has these wagons for patients, it makes it a lot easier to get around with the little ones. Can you tell that the boys are ready to just get home?
His bruise from the i.v. and redness on his chest from the heart monitoring "sticky things". (It's late, I cannot remember what they are called.)

Shoes
In my 15 years (almost 16) of being an aunt I have been around a lot of little girls. One thing they have all had in common is a love for SHOES! I always thought it was so cute when they would want to wear my shoes or just play with their princess dress up shoes. I figured "it's just a girl thing". Well, to my surprise, IT IS NOT! Sebastien LOVES shoes. It doesn't matter if they are daddy's, mommy's or his cousin's pink shoes. If they interest him at all, he will sneak over and grab them as soon as you are not looking. Once I noticed his fascination of shoes, I tried to take pictures of his groovy style. Please tell me this is normal for little BOYS?? :)
Here we have Sebastien modeling his black, warm and cozy snow boots. He will wear these all the time if we don't hide them from him. Don't you love his shirt, diaper and boots style?
This picture was taken prior to him finding the boots. Here we have him with PANTS and his bright green alligator slippers that he got for Christmas. We have some work to do with this one on color coordinating. :)
This is pretty normal, Sebastien loves to put on Daddy's slippers and walk around. It is so fun to watch him try and walk around, trying not to trip.
Now we have two of my favorites...
At Gma & Gpa Egnew's house, trying on his cousin Addie's pink shoes. He did this all by himself and I couldn't help but laugh. I love the red helicopter p.j's with pink tennies.
Here we have the formal, shiny black Sunday shoes. I think they really accent his blue and yellow monkey jammies. His little smile adds the perfect touch to pull the whole outfit together. :)
We have several more photos of his "shoe" adventures but these were my top five. It will be interesting to see if Manti has this same love for shoes when he gets a little older.

New Cousins
It has been a very exciting past few days on both sides of the family. On February 28th Troy's oldest sister, Crystal, had her third baby girl (Kylee Rebekah). She is very cute and I am sure her big sisters are just lovin' on her any chance they get.
Just a couple of days ago, the baby that Paul and Jessica are going to adopt was born. Little Kambree Elise is just adorable. We are very excited for both families and cannot wait to get to Arizona to love on these precious little girls.

What were Troy and Sebastien up to?
Continuing from the EEG post, while Manti and I were "held up" in the hospital, Troy and Sebastien stayed at the Ronald McDonald house.

It was about a mile (maybe less) away from the hospital, making it very easy for Troy and Sebastien to come and go. The Ronald McDonald House is such an amazing place. There are so many things for kids and so many wonderful people that volunteer. We had such a great experience with them, I am now motivated to come up with ways that our family can help them. Anyway, got off track for a minute there, back to what Troy and Sebastien were up to...
Playing some air hockey with other people staying there. 
Playing with one of the many train sets they had. 
Watching the fish swim around. They are both very fascinated with fish tanks...Sebastien gets that from his daddy! 
Shooting some hoops. Do we have a little basketball player on our hands?? 
After all of the excitment in the R.M. House, finally laying down in bed, relaxing. I don't know what we would have done if the boys couldn't have stayed there. Well, yes I do, and I think we would have driven Jeff and Jessica nuts! :)

EEG's
I thought I should take a few minutes and give an update with the recent Manti happenings. Many of you know around Thanksgiving Manti started having these little "shaking" episodes(his head would shake uncontrollably, arms and legs sometimes too). The first time he did it I was a little worried but then when I said his name he just looked at me and gave me the biggest smile. I just let it go and didn't think anything of it. A few days before Christmas he did it again, three times in one day. Troy was at work and I couldn't talk to him until later that night. Long story short, we ended up in the emergency room that night. They did blood tests and everything came back elevated which was a little concerning. I had never seen a baby do this before and became a little more worried. With a history of seizures on Troy's side of the family we weren't sure if that's what was going on with Manti. We went to the clinic (on base) for a follow up appointment and one of the things they did was measure his head. The next thing the doctor said really threw me for a loop...his head size had gone from being in the 7th%tile to the 44th%tile in a month! That was very alarming to the doctors. Christmas day he had three more, Troy called the on-call doctor, we were very lucky to get an anti-seizure medicine. A few days later we ended up going to the Children's Hospital in Denver for an EEG. Manti is not a fan of having his head touched, this was NOT the best experience! See for yourself....
This first picture was just getting started with everything. He doesn't look too upset, but this is leading up to this...
It took about 20minutes, maybe longer to get everything all set up. Which means, 20 minutes of my poor little baby in tears, screaming! This last picture is of the tech wrapping his head so he doesn't yank the electrodes off his head. He is a little worn out from the crying and starting to calm down a little. 
The next day the doctor called us with results from the EEG. Her exact words were "Is this Manti's mom? I have the results and it showed abnormal activity on the left side of his brain." My first response "What does that mean?" I think my heart skipped a few beats and it took me a minute to realize what she just told me. The next step to this madness...monitoring his "episodes" and an MRI! We were lucky enough to go on our trip to AZ as planned, we needed that break! At that point, Manti was on the anti-seizure medicine and STILL having these episodes going on. It seemed as though they increased after starting the medicine, making us worry even more. After calling and talking to the neurology doctors again, they decided to do an EMU, which is basically a 2-3 day EEG. GREAT! The first one went oh so well, now we have to do it again. February 2nd we checked in to the hospital and started all over again (with the EEG). This time the tech marked his head where to put certain electrodes. Again, not so happy. 
His big brother was there to help calm him down and make him happy. I think it worked!
The first night was horrible. Neither Manti or I slept at all and to make matters worse, he threw up all over me! EEWWW!
Manti finally let me put him down in the crib but I was feeling a little overwhelmed. Can you tell? After three days of this, he did NOT have any episodes the whole time! Everything looked PERFECT-no abnormalities on the EEG. Why do kids do this? We were released and told to not give him anymore of the medicine. Since then, he has only had two episodes. Yay! We were then anxiously waiting for his MRI on the 25th of February!

Cousins
One great thing about going to see family is watching Sebastien play with his cousins. We are so lucky to have Jeff and Jessica only an hour and a half away and get to see them often. Their kids are always so great to play with Sebastien and keep him entertained. He just loves having someone other then mom and dad to play with and I have to admit, it is a nice break for us! :) Our recent trip to Arizona was perfect. There were a lot of cousins for Sebastien to get reacquainted and play with. These are some of the fun things cousins do...
They Sit with you at dinner.
They share a blanket with you and let you lay on them when you are tired.
They do stuff with you even if it means getting in trouble.
They play "kitchen" with you.
They bounce you on the trampoline.
They hold your hand so you don't lose your way.
They give you kisses when you are sad.
We love our cousins very much and wish we were able to be with them all the time. Thanks cousins for always being so nice!
